Dreaming silently ...

Scientific name: Dianthus chinensis
Dianthus, China pink, Indian pink or rainbow pink are short-lived perennial garden plants. It is native to China and northern parts of India. It blooms in several colours and shades. The extremely popular garden plants are favourites among gardeners. The small single flowers have four to six slightly overlapping petals that have often cut or fringed edges. The pretty petals are gathered at the base into a strong green tubular calyx. This beautiful ornamental plant has attracted my attention that from childhood i was maintaining this plant in my home. Recently during my visit to my native place, i saw my father keeping some dianthus! This photograph was taken on 26th April, 2011 from Coonoor, while on a family trip.
