Happy new year 2012 ...

I wish a happy, wonderful and floral year ahead.
Thank you for being with me ....

Scientific name: Psidium guajava
The apple guava or common guava is one of the most gregarious of fruit trees, widely cultivated across tropical and subtropical world for its fruit. This is a small tree with spreading branches. The tree is particularly recognizable by its smooth, thin copper coloured bark that flakes off, showing greenish layer beneath. Fairly fragrant, the white flowers are borne singly or in small clusters in the leaf axils. They are 2.5 cm wide with 4-5 petals and a prominent tuft of upto to 250 stamens, tipped wit pale yellow anthers. I took this photograph on 17th December, 2011 from a tree planted by my father just in front of my home, when i was a kid. On this new year day i humbly dedicate this flower to my father and to the whole world!
