Glowing from the heart ...

Scientific name: Ipomoea purpurea
The common morning glory though is native to Mexico, has spread across the globe due to its highly attractive flowers. The plant wines itself around the structures, growing to a height of 2-3 m. It has heart shaped leaves and the slender stems are covered with brown hairs. The trumpet shaped flowers are expressive and a delight to watch. The common morning glory comes in pink, white and purple colours. I have a special liking towards the morning glories as they are the flowers with a radiating smile in the mornings, delights with its pleasant smile. It can be grown in arches, trellis and even in pots with suitable support. I took the photos of pink and white in the morning of 5th October, 2011 at the Dussehra flower show at Mysore and the purple was shot on 3rd September, 2011 at CSRTI, Mysore campus.
